2019 NAIOP Team Presentation

Join us for the redux of Georgetown’s winning 2019 NAIOP team presentation on Thursday, September 19, 2019. The event will also initiate the formation of new student teams for several competitions in the coming year. This event will be a great opportunity for us to connect with alumni and the current students. ULI 2019 annual meeting coincides with this event and the convention center is just steps away from the downtown campus.

The Making of: Cotton & Reed - April 12, 2017

DC’s Union Market District is a vibrant, historic neighborhood and retail destination populated with culinary talent, creative artisans, and unique merchants. Cotton & Reed is the newest destination to open. Join us to taste homegrown rum cocktails, see the beautiful space, and hear from the distillery owners, the developer (EDENS), and the architectural firm behind the innovative design for Union Market's newest space.  Speaking panel, networking social, and rum-tasting included.

 

Night at the Ballpark - 6/11/2016

A group of alumi gathered to cheer on the Nats and bond over a few beers and hotdogs.


 

Inaugural Capstone Excellence Awards - 5/17/2016

The three student finalists presented their capstone presentations to an audience of alumni association members.  


 

Alumni/Student Speed Networking - 4/22/2016

The first speed networking event between current students and alumni of the program was a success!  Current students were given the opportunity to network for short periods of time with alumni of the real estate program who are active in various fields in real estate - development, finance, construction, and international real estate.


 

Project Tour- JBG's Atlantic Plumbing Development - 3/31/2016

A group of over 40 alumni association members gathered for an evening to tour JBG's award-winning Atlantic Plumbing development project, followed by a cocktails and networking at Landmark Theatre.  


 

Georgetown Annual Holiday Party - 12/10/2015

The Alumni Association co-hosted the 2015 Holiday Party held at Penn Social.  Current students, alumni, and professors mingled and enjoyed the festive spirit of the season.


 

Georgetown Basketball Season Tipoff Celebration - 11/14/2015

A small group of real estate alumni gathered in the KBS Realty suite to cheer on the Hoyas in the first game of the 2015-2016 basketball season!



Wine Tasting Educational Seminar - 11/5/2015

A group of alumni gathered at the K Street office of JLL to partake in a wine tasting and educational seminar, helping ensure that our graduates will be ready to select the perfect pairings for future real estate networking dinners.



Graduation Celebration - 6/21/2015

The Georgetown Real Estate Alumni Association welcomed the Class of 2015 to its ranks with a cocktail reception hosted in Akridge's 700 6th Street.  See some photos from the event below.


2015 Tropaia Awards - 5/13/2015

The Georgetown Real Estate Alumni Association was on hand at the 2015 Tropaia Awards Ceremony at historic Gaston Hall to celebrate the Class of 2015's most decorated students.  A big congratulations goes out to Kaitlyn Walthall (GRD '15), who was named the Class of 2015's Most Outstanding Student, and Damon Orobona (GRD '15), who was awarded with the L'Enfant Leadership Award.  Congratulations guys!



Georgetown v. Seton Hall - 3/7/2015

KBS Realty hosted a small group of alumni in its corporate box for the last home game of the season - Georgetown v. Seton Hall.  A big thanks to Yvonne Baker for hosting!

 

Real Estate Alumni Georgetown Basketball Game Outing - Georgetown v. Butler - 1/17/2015

A group of 40+ alumni and current students watched the Georgetown mens basketball team take down the Butler Bulldogs in an exciting rematch.  The group met at the Greene Turtle for pre-game cocktails and were ushered down to center court post-game. 



2014 Holiday Party - 12/20/2014

The Alumni Association co-hosted the 2014 Holiday Party held at Shadow Room on K Street in Washington, DC.  Well over 100 current students, alumni, and professors mingled and enjoyed open bar cocktails and hors d'oeuvres and, of course, the festive spirit of the season.

 

Georgetown Real Estate Alumni Basketball Game Hosted by KBS Realty - 11/22/2014

KBS Realty hosted a small group of alumni in their suite at the Verizon Center to watch Georgetown beat down Robert Morris.  Thanks to Yvonne Baker for organizing!

 

London Real Estate Forum - 10/1/2014

Co-Hosted by the Georgetown Real Estate Alumni Association and the Urban Land Institute

Presented in partnership by ULI and the Georgetown University Real Estate Alumni Association, this was a well-attended event that focused on international development opportunities in London, England.  London was recently ranked as the number one city for real estate investment, and Georgetown University’s first place proposal in the 2014 MIT CASE Real Estate Development Competition, hosted at London City Hallearlier this year, showcased real estate opportunities abroad.  The Georgetown University team presented its development case and their winning proposal for the revamped mixed-use site for ITV Headquarters, one of the UK’s largest television networks.  Georgetown’s proposal for the redevelopment of the London Television Centre site in Waterloo was favored in the final round of competition over proposals by Harvard University and Columbia University.  The MIT CASE Competition is regarded as the premier case competition for graduate students around the world. This was a great event that congratulated the Georgetown team, provided networking opportunities with industry practitioners and highlighted international real estate development opportunities.  There was a networking reception that followed the program with an open bar.  The event was free for members of the Alumni Association.

 

Georgetown Real Estate Conquers Los Angeles! - 9/8/2014

Glen Lambinicio (GRD '12) visits with Georgetown's LA alumni Simon Aftalion (GRD '14), Shane Fozdar (GRD '12), and Edith Petrovics (GRD '12), who were recruited to commercial real estate careers on the west coast after graduation from the program.  Simon is currently a project manager with Markwood Development, Shane is a construction manager at Aldi US, and Edith is the manager of financial services at Regency Centers Corporation.  Glen, the current alumni association president, ventured out west to visit some of our west coast alumni and find ways for our organization to expand its reach in a major real estate market.

 

2013 Holiday Party - 12/20/2013

Akridge Development Presentation and Networking Happy Hour - 9/5/2013 

Atop 700 6th Street NW, overlooking the D.C. skyline, guests were able to socialize and exchange ideas on the local real estate market.  Later in the evening, Georgetown Real Estate alumnus David Toney, VP of Development at Akridge, discussed the development process for 700 6th Street NW and some of the particular issues faced along the way.

The event was hosted by the Georgetown University’s Real Estate Alumni Group and organized by Edith Petrovics (GRD ’13), Glen Lambinicio (GRD ’12), and Sara Hines (GRD ’11).  Several other alumni were in attendance, including: Anne Logsdon with Broad Street Realty, Ivan Matthews with the Bozzuto Development, Lamont Bessicks with Concordis Advisors, James Buckley with Columbia National Real Estate Finance, and Matthew Crossley with JLL.


Terrell Place Rooftop Cocktail Soirée - 6/19/2013

The Georgetown Real Estate Alumni Association held its first major networking event on the rooftop of Terrell Place in Gallery Place on June 19, 2013.  MPRE alumni Damon Orobona (GRD ’15), Victor Gutierrez (GRD ’13), and Elizabeth Clipp (GRD ’13) presented their finalist entry in the 2013 MIT CASE real estate development competition to approximately 70 onlookers, which included real estate alumni and representatives from the General Services Administration, who were interested in the student's redevelopment proposal for the aging FBI headquarters building.
